VERIFIED VIEWS AND RIGHTS TO LIGHT

What are Verified Views and Rights to Light Surveys
Verified Views and Rights to Light surveys provide valuable information for planning of new developments and for Environmental Impact Assessments of large infrastructure projects such as wind farms and roads. Large area developments and tall buildings will have major visual impact on their surroundings and also impact on views and skyline from farther afield. Verified Views surveys allow one to generate photo montages and 3D models that show how a new development will look against existing buildings and surroundings. It allows one to see the development as it will appear from particular viewing points and also determine the shadows cast by the development on to its surroundings.

How it works

By surveying the 3D points on existing buildings and features within the field of view and surveying the position of the camera set-ups, the illustration of a development can be placed within the scene at the correct height and scale. Highly accurate 3D models of the existing environment can be produced from laser scanning surveys and the model of the new development placed accurately within a 3D scene. High levels of detail allow the accurate calculation of right to light assessment and determination of areas causing light infringement on neighbouring buildings.
