FLOOD SURVEY

We can combine experienced teams of hydrographic, geophysical and topographic surveyors who can attend flood sites at short notice and will gather vital survey data from a “live” flood, which allow for the thorough evaluation of any and all preventative measures or planned reparation work and will minimize/eliminate the potential for future flooding or flood related destruction. Additionally, the collation of this information will provide a more comprehensive understanding of the local flood dynamics.

Why?

Over the last number of years and especially in recent months flooding has had a major impact on our lives, homes, businesses and infrastructure. Research suggests that this is not going to change for the foreseeable future and will become a regular occurrence. The costly impact affects all sectors of our economy with private individuals, businesses, local councils and the government bearing the brunt in many different ways:

1.	Insurance premiums are increasing enormously and in some cases insurance is no longer available / affordable to those in high risk areas, leaving property and business owners extremely vulnerable.
2.	The clean-up operation in the aftermath is of considerable burden to local businesses, councils and corporations.
3.	Water supplies are suffering from contamination, which leads to more complex and costly situations.
4.	Loss or interruption to services, utilities and infrastructure such as sewerage, gas, electricity, road and rail can bring the economy to a halt.
5.	Home and business owners are suffering from increased stress related health problems.
6.	Pressure is being put on local authorities to fund emergency services used during the floods and re- location costs for those evacuated from their homes, while the clean up and repair work is carried out.

Speed of intervention

Our experienced "Flood Survey Team" can arrive on site within a short and pre-arranged timeframe for a number of reasons, including:

* We have a network of office locations nationwide with immediate access to arterial routes which allows for immediate dispatch of the relevant personnel and equipment.
* Each of our offices have a large inventory of company owned specialist survey equipment & survey software including boats, quad bikes and UAV’s (Unmanned Airborne Vehicle) to enable us gain access to all terrains.
* we have in excess of 80 full time experienced staff including specialist surveyors, CAD processors, administration and support staff.
* Our hydrographic survey team has in excess of 20 years experience working throughout Ireland and the UK and therefore has extensive working knowledge of most floodplains and areas of risk. This dramatically reduces reconnaissance time on site.
