FACADES AND ELEVATIONSWhat is Façades and Elevations Surveying Facades and Elevations Surveying is a process of accurately measuring the elevations or sides of building to record all the vertical features such as windows, doors, parapets, roofs, columns and other structural element. The facades and elevations survey produces a scaled CAD drawing of the front and sides of a building allowing engineers and other building design professionals to work with information precisely rather than attempting to interoperate measurements from a standard photograph. This process can capture structural detail that is not adequately portrayed by floor plans and sections. How does it work Facades and elevations are recorded using a variety of surveying technologies dictated by the level of detail required and by the nature of the elevations being surveyed. We employ total stations, laser scanners and rectified photography and can record everything from main structural detail down to intricate architectural features such as cornice moulding or stained glass windows for conservation requirements. CAD drawing of facades and elevations can be produced a flat 2D drawings or in full 3D depending on client needs. Our experience At Murphy Surveys we have years of experience in façade and elevation surveying form surveying single buildings to producing full laser scanned 3D streetscapes for redevelopment and urban regeneration projects. Our surveyors are well trained in picking out important detail and are aware of the structural features that are important to architects, engineers and building conservationists. We have all the right tools to meet the requirements of any job, whether it requires the total station survey or the use of advanced photogrammetric and laser scanning techniques. Benefits
