Project Engineer

To cope with project demands the company is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing team. The Project Engineer will be involved in our Specialist Inspections Division and Hydrographic Surveys.

The Specialist Inspection Services deal with the inspections of bridges, tunnels, marine structures and buildings. We offer clients specially trained inspection teams who can undertake inspections which require underwater, rope access or confined space inspection techniques.

Murphy Surveys provide highly accurate and detailed hydrographic surveys. We have developed and grown into Ireland’s leading surveying company in capturing data for flood modelling. Our services include, but are not limited to, Survey flood defences, GIS data conversion, Ground based survey techniques, Remote sensing techniques etc.

The role will include

  • Structural inspections of various structures throughout Ireland and the UK
  • Site survey along various waterways throughout Ireland and the UK
  • Preparation and compilation of technical reports
  • Organisation and process of site data (to include production of drawings)
  • Preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Civil/Structural Engineering role
  • A third level qualification (Level 8 degree or higher) in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Experience with various structures and inspections of same
  • Experience with the use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office


Additional Desired Experience

  • Flood Modelling
  • Diving qualification
  • Rope access certificate
  • Confined space certificate
  • Chartered or approaching that level in their career
  • Boat operator/handling certificate
