Murphy Surveys to exhibit at National Construction Summit

Murphy Surveys are delighted to be exhibiting at the National Construction Summit which will be held on the 16th June in the RDS, Dublin. This event will bring together key stakeholders and regulatory bodies from construction companies, policy makers, project owners, government and municipal bodies, lenders & private investment firms, architectural and design firms, technology companies, legal & tax professionals, equipment and machinery providers, service providers etc. The purpose of the conference is to stimulate debate and identify the areas in need of investment, to connect the industry to investors and projects, to make delegates aware of all regulatory and tax issues and to identify key technologies that can assist in meeting Ireland’s construction needs.

Murphy Surveys will also speak at the innovation workshop programme. Geophysicist Dr Sonia Assunsao will discuss the inspection of structures by means of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). This is a recent technique with increasing importance in the market. The methodology consists of the emission of electromagnetic waves that penetrates a given medium. The contrast of these properties allows identifying features that can be related to structural arrangement and detection of pathologies. The survey can be carried out before, after and during the construction due to the high variability and flexibility of GPR. In this presentation Sonia will show case studies about columns, concrete slab as minor scale and the O’ Connell Bridge as a large scale survey.

Senior BIM Coordinator, Alan Halpin will discuss BIM Solutions for the construction and high tech industries. Alan will discuss how collaboration is the key to getting value from BIM and nowhere is this felt more than in both the high tech industry, where precision is required due to the sensitive nature of such projects and in construction, due to the pace of the industry’s growth. Using BIM from start to finish ensures that all data is tracked, and can be accessed through a variety of means on and off site instantaneously. This speeds up construction but also reduces errors through proper implementation.

The workshops take place at 11am, and we will be exhibiting at stands 44 and 45. To register for free delegate entry: Register Here.

We look forward to meeting you at the event!
