History

Murphy Surveys was established in 1983 by Peter Murphy; a visionary of his time in the field of surveying. He believed that the future of the industry lay in technological progression, and from the very beginning he knew the key to Murphy Surveys’ success was to leverage this to deliver a more efficient and quality-focused service, with precision as the cornerstone.

Prior to the establishment of Murphy Surveys, Peter had learned his craft well as Chief Surveyor at Tara Mines and Aughinish Alumina.

Peter Murphy was awarded a fellowship of the Institute of Surveyors in recognition of his contribution to the industry.

Murphy Surveys has grown from a small, family-run business to the largest survey company in Ireland. When faced with adversity upon Peter Murphy’s passing in 1995, a new generation of Murphy Surveys began; the ethos for continual progression remaining firmly in the company culture.

Over 30 Years later, Murphy Surveys has offices in Kildare, Cork, Belfast, London and Scotland. We employ more than 200 staff and offer world-class solutions globally to long-term public and private sector clients, including government bodies and blue chip companies. We have grown year on year – even through recession – because of our innovation and core understanding of our clients’ needs.
