Our company is seeking a Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Officer



Key Responsibilities

  • To maintain Quality Management System (ISO9001), Environmental Management System (ISO14001), Health & Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001) within the organization, under the supervision of the Quality Manager
  • Continual improvement of the company Health, Safety & Environmental procedures in line with new legislation/regulations
  • To provide Health and Safety support to each department within the organisation
  • To act as PSCS and ensure compliance in accordance with the Construction Regulations, 2013
  • To ensure company compliance with all associated Health and Safety Legislation including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005, the General Application Regulations, 2007 and the Construction Regulations, 2013
  • Prepare and review Method Statements / Risk Assessments / H & S plans
  • Site audits and inspections
  • Undertake Safety Inductions and Tool Box Talks
  • Planning, controlling or managing the safe free flow of traffic through road works (surveying), as per Irish Traffic Signs Manual (Chapter 8)
  • Control all aspects of project documentation on multiple simultaneous projects, utilizing various control methods/systems
  • Prepare, operate and update Document Control Procedures in line with the Company’s Document Management System
  • Responding to emails
  • Producing documentation for Directors using Word, Excel
  • Creating presentations for Directors using PowerPoint
  • Preparing/Organising and Auditing of Murphy tender documentation
  • Be flexible to travel, when required



  • Minimum academic requirements – Diploma in Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrate ability to act as a competent PSCS in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013
  • Experience in acting as PSCS or co-ordinating that role
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of Quality Management Systems
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of Environmental and Health and Safety Management Systems
  • Experience in the preparation of Safety & Health Plans
  • Experience in traffic management with valid CSCS Signing, Lighting and Guarding at Roadworks an advantage
  • QMS Internal Auditor an advantage
  • Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills required.
  • Key requirements include efficient work methods, functioning both as part of team and on own initiative, experience of project management an advantage
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations
  • Good communication skills essentials
  • Hold a full valid driving licence without endorsements
