DART INTERCONNECTOR UNDERGROUNDKey Facts : DART Interconnector Underground Utility Survey Client Requirements: The purpose of the survey was to facilitate the development of the design of the relocation of existing utility services which may be required to be diverted or protected during the course of the DART Underground Construction Works. The results of the survey were also used as the basis for the structural design of the stations and access/ventilation shafts to the DART Underground. Subsequent to the completion of detailed design, the results of the survey will be relied on for the estimation of quantities for the main Contract for the DART Underground Project. Murphy Surveys Solution: Involved the following:
Murphy surveys carried out all works on site during the night. This involved implementing a traffic management plan, obtaining work permits form DCC, Irish Rail and Veolia Transport and liaising with various utility providers and an Garda Siochana. The survey objective was achieved utilising various techniques such as sonde surveys, radio detection surveys, ground penetrating radar surveys and any existing records that were available. |
