Promoting Equal Opportunities for all with the Cope Foundation

We’re pleased to work with the Cope Foundation, a non-profit organisation that supports over 2,300 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Through a work shadowing initiative, we welcomed Diarmuid O’ Sullivan a member of the Cope Foundation into our Cork office where he worked alongside one of our surveyors gaining valuable hands-on work experience.

JP Kelly, Commercial Manager, Murphy Surveys Cork comments:

“After an introduction into surveying and a health and safety briefing at our Cork office, Diarmuid was fully kitted in PPE and whisked away onsite by one of our surveyors to conduct an aerial survey. Using the latest UAV kit, Diarmuid supported our surveyor in collecting and post processing the data, he was a remarkable help and got involved in some topographical surveying too.”

“The Cope Foundation is a fantastic organisation giving hope, support and opening up opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. We’re honoured to be sharing our skill set to support the learning and development of those involved in the charity. This initiative has not only given Diarmuid a real-life work experience, an opportunity he might never had, but also the opportunity to allow him to grow personally and expand his self-confidence in a non-judgmental, healthy work environment.”

We look forward to welcoming the next group from the Cope Foundation and we wish Diarmuid all the best in his future career!
