A day in the life of Ray Murphy, Managing Director of Murphy Surveys

Murphy Surveys are proud to have been included in the Winter 2015/2016 edition of the SCSI Journal with an article on a day in the life of Managing Director, Ray Murphy.

In the article featured in the Surveyors Journal, published by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI), he describes the diversity of the industry, the company’s expansive growth as well as offering an insight into some of the day to day activities as Managing Director of an ever growing company.

As Managing Director, Ray is responsible for both the strategy and vision for the company, after graduating from DIT Bolton Street in 1999, he has been instrumental, in partnership with his three brothers, Colin, Niall and Diarmuid, in a growth strategy that has transformed the business to the largest geomatics company in Ireland and the UK.

In the article, Ray, a former president of the IIS, describes the importance of the role of the SCSI within the industry and the significance of the recent transition of IIS members to membership of the SCSI:

“I see great opportunity for collaboration with other professional groups within the SCSI. The requirements of today’s industry are for informed collaborative design and construction, and I believe that the SCSI is perfectly placed to set and maintain the highest standards of competency among the profession to cater for this.”
